The information used by the service
| Information | How it is used |
|---|---|
| Google sign-in and account identifiers | Authenticate your account, associate saved work and plan access with you, and support account-specific requests. |
| Uploaded or pasted resume content | Extract text, analyze the resume and prepare the drafts or career tools you request. This can include your name, contact details, employment history, education and skills. |
| Job descriptions, custom instructions and answers | Provide role-specific drafting and interview feedback. Saved results can include the job and instruction context used to create them. |
| Saved results, history, jobs, notes and workflow information | Let you reopen, edit, organize and download your work in the signed-in account. |
| Payment references and subscription status | Confirm purchases, apply allowances and provide access to billing management. Payment entry and billing are handled through Stripe. |
| Usage events and operational information | Measure visits and completed actions, diagnose errors, apply usage limits and understand which product steps are working. |
| Support messages | Review the question or account-data request and provide correspondence inside the account. |
Processing and service providers
ResumeHack uses Google Cloud and Firebase for hosting, account authentication and saved application data. AI service providers process resume text, job descriptions, instructions and other relevant inputs when you request analysis or generation. Information such as contact details may be included because it appears in the resume and is needed in the resulting document.
The job-search feature derives a profile of role titles, demonstrated skills, experience level and location. The search instructions exclude names, email addresses, phone numbers and street addresses from that search profile. Location can be inferred from the resume and changed by you. Searching is different from generating a document: the latter can use the full resume content you supplied.
Stripe processes checkout and subscription management. ResumeHack uses payment and subscription identifiers and status to grant the correct account benefits. Do not send card details to ResumeHack support.
AI processing is necessary for the requested AI features. This page does not promise zero provider retention or describe all provider practices. You can read OpenAI’s privacy information, Google’s privacy information and Stripe’s privacy information for their respective services.
Saved work, browser storage and retention
Signed-in scans and generated results are saved with your account so that History and the workspace can reopen them. Resume text and related instructions or job descriptions may be part of those saved records. A newer generation does not automatically erase your earlier saved history.
The app uses browser storage to retain preferences and in-progress work across navigation, sign-in and checkout. Do not leave a shared device signed into your account. Guest-use identifiers and usage records help enforce the first-scan allowance.
Temporary upload files are used to extract text. Deleting a temporary file is different from deleting extracted text or saved account results. The service does not currently publish a fixed automatic deletion period for all account data. You can request review or deletion of account information through support.
Cancellation ends future subscription renewal when completed in the billing portal; it does not automatically delete saved documents or billing records held by the payment service. A data-deletion request does not, by itself, cancel a subscription.
Site measurement and advertising
The site uses Google Analytics, Google Ads and Reddit Pixel tags to measure page visits, feature interactions and completed account or subscription events. Measurement can include device and traffic-source information, advertising click identifiers, plan names and action outcomes.
Resume text, cover-letter text, names, email addresses and job-description content are not intentionally included in the app’s analytics event parameters. Reddit events include page visits, completed scans, new signups, checkout starts, editor reviews, first resume exports and verified purchases with amount, currency and a transaction identifier. Automatic email and phone matching is disabled. These measurement tags are separate from the service processing needed to analyze your resume. Do not place personal information in campaign links or page URLs.
Browser storage and cookies support sign-in, guest allowances, preferences and measurement. Browser privacy controls can affect analytics, advertising attribution and sign-in behavior.
Your documents and employer contact
Generated resumes, letters and interview suggestions are drafts for you to review. Job links lead to external websites with their own practices. Preparing a packet, saving a job or downloading a calendar entry does not submit an application or send a message to an employer.
You control what you download and send. Check the accuracy of the final document and remove any personal details you do not want to share with an employer.
Questions and account-data requests
Sign in and open Contact support to ask about account information or submit a deletion request. The support conversation is available in your account. Requests are reviewed; the form is not an instant self-service deletion tool.
Include enough information to identify the issue, but avoid passwords, full card numbers, identity documents or unrelated resume content. For subscription cancellation, use Settings → Manage billing separately.
